Stockton 99 Speedway made the announcement today that a most popular driver of the year award has been established for each of it’s three major divisions of their NASCAR Weekly Racing Series Presented By DODGE.

The awards, to be presented at the season ending awards banquet, will be sponsored in part by the 18 participating Subway Sandwich Shops in the greater Stockton area, and ballots are already on hand at those locations for fans to pick up on a daily basis.

One ballot per week can be submitted with a choice of the most popular driver in each of the three divisions, simply by placing the ballot in the Subway Sandwich ballot box located at the quarter-mile asphalt track, one-quarter-mile west off Hwy-99 on Wilson Way.

Stockton 99 Speedway features HOTWOOD Western Late Models, Grand Americans, and Pure Stocks as a part of it’s Saturday night program, plus touring series that include Legends of the Pacific, USAC & BCRA Midgets, Pro-Four Trucks, Ultra Wheel Spec Trucks, and Baby Grands, from April through September.

The ballots will be tallied on a weekly basis and fans will be kept in tune to the progress of their favorite drivers as the season progresses.

Track Promoter Ken Clapp says, "It’s just a simple way to add a little fun at the track and to give the fans something to be personally involved with." "We want to thank all the great folks at the Subway Sandwich shops for their involvement and interest in the second greatest spectator sport in America."

Fans will have their first chance to cast ballots May 11th, as the SRL Late Model Wild West Shootout Series returns for it’s second of four scheduled events at Stockton with a 100-lap feature on tap. They will be joined by the HOTWOOD Western Late Models, the Grand American Modifieds, and the Pure Stock division, all part of the NASCAR Weekly Racing Series Presented by DODGE.
