CMRA "Young Guns Series" born in the Central Valley for 2005!

November 21st - Danville, CA

In the 2003 racing season, several young drivers and their parents elected to bring their racing skills to a higher level by traveling to Washington State to compete with other young drivers in the Minicup West Coast Nationals. This fostered more youthful interest from the Sacramento and Stockton areas of Central California. At the end of the 2004 Minicup Season, a wave of new interest exploded bring more and more youth to the sport of minicup auto racing, some from other venues such as quarter midgets and go-karting.

Minicup ½ scaled stock car racing allows competition based on skill and ability without the need of size and muscle opening the arena to every interested youth age 8 to 16 years. Adding the realism of door-to-door NASCAR type racing on ¼ mile to 1/3-mile tracks brings the dreams of future drivers to a reality they can enjoy now, honing their skills on the same tracks that adult drivers compete, only with their youthful peers.

The 2005 racing season brings a Minicup Racing series that is equal to none in existence in the Nation. California Minicup Racings Series is proud and honored to announce the "Young Guns Series", a 14 race series, based in Roseville and Stockton located in the Central Valley at All American Speedway and Stockton 99 Speedway respectively.

This Saturday night racing program will be part of the racing bill for both tracks for seven races at each track. Also included in the "Young Guns Series" are the 4 qualifier races required to complete in the American Minicup Series West Coast Nationals tentatively scheduled for August of this year in California.

Newcomers to the sport will be welcome at a 2 day school involving the maintenance and basic set up of the Minicup racecar combined with a full day of on track instruction with their own race car brings the new teams "up to speed" for competition during the 2005 season. Returning veterans will assist by acting as one-on-one instructors to our new members and drivers.

The California Minicup Racing Association promises to be the premier youth racing program in the state. We welcome interested persons to join us in enjoying safe, organized and fair youth auto racing in the Central Valley. "The Young Guns" of the California Minicup Racing Association are tomorrow’s future in auto racing throughout the world.
