Starting up, Philpott's are back!

It's been a few years since #50, Dave Philpott has been at Stockton 99 Speedway's "Play Day" practice session, and this time he's not driving the family car.

Philpott, a two-time track champion, is the Western Late Model crew chief for his 16-year-old son, Justin, #05.

"We figure this is a good place to get Justin some seat time, because Stockton has always been one of the tougher tracks around," he said.

Dave Philpott hasn't raced at Stockton 99 in three years. The 60th and final season at the track begins April 2.

Note: Dave's traditional colors of orange and white are back in the pits at 99, they even painted the "Hoosier" raised lettering on the tires orange!! Notice the number is actually an inverted 50 (05). The was the Philpott number for two generations. Gary Glenn now has the #50.

More returning veterans that have reserved numbers in the Western Late Model Division are: Harry Belletto, Kevin Gottula, Dave Byrd, and Ron Strmiska Jr!! Now that's a lot of history in one main event!! Could somebody call Norman David, Dan Reed, Johnny Brazil and Jack McCoy?????
