Prior to the actual race season kicking off at the Stockton 99 Speedway, the track will take part in a special event on Sunday March 30 at Pacific Ave. Bowl in Stockton to help promote the entities that make up the Noceti Group. There will be race cars on display, ticket giveaways and more during the event that takes place from 10am to 2pm on March 30. All competition race cars are welcome at the event to help promote 99 Speedway, the Stockton Dirt Track and Little 99.

“This is going to be a really fun event to help get the awareness of the race track out there to folks in the community,” commented Stockton 99 Speedway announcer Wayne Pierce. “If you have a race car we’d love for you to come out and show it off. Pacific Ave Bowl is in a highly visible area and our focus is to reach as many kids as possible, so they’ll bug their parents to come out and watch the races. This is going to be one of those events where we’re attempting to introduce the sport of racing to people around town and bring in new fans.”

The Stockton 99 Speedway racing season fires off on Saturday April 5 with the opening round of the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series. Various changes have been put in place this year, including the addition of Rick Rudoni as Director of Competition at the track. The marketing and pr department has also been stepped up with George Hague and Gary Thomas brought in to work with the Noceti Group. A brand new Stockton 99 Speedway website is also in the works along with other announcements being planned in the near future.

“We’re excited about what the year ahead has in store for us,” commented Tony Noceti of Noceti Group Inc. “The addition of Rick as the DOC will be a benefit for all involved and will allow myself to focus more on the hospitality side of things during race nights. Bringing in George Hague & Gary Thomas is a big help as well to really get the word out there about Stockton 99 Speedway. We hope to see a great crowd at the Swap Meet on Sunday and also look forward to having lots of people at the Pacific Ave Bowl Race Car Show on March 30. We’re trying hard to reach new fans and doing events like that is always a benefit. All in all the upcoming season should be a solid one and we can’t wait to get it started.”

One of the major cornerstone events once again for the Stockton 99 Speedway will be on Saturday May 3 when the traveling NASCAR K&N Pro Series West hits the track. The series is set to compete in 14 events this coming season in seven different states.

Last year’s NASCAR K&N Pro Series West event at the Stockton 99 Speedway was captured by eventual West champion Derek Thorn over Sergio Pena, Cameron Haley, Luis Tyrell and Eric Holmes in the top-five. The series saw one of the closest point battles in its history, as Thorn claimed the title by just six-points over Hayley at season’s end. The event at 99 Speedway will be the third round of competition for the K&N Series, which competes in Phoenix, Arizona and Irwindale, CA prior to invading the Stockton quarter-mile.

The special Tri-Holiday Series returns once again to the Stockton 99 Speedway, with the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series in action on Memorial Day weekend, 4th of July weekend and Labor Day weekend. The dates are Saturday May 24, Saturday July 5 and Saturday August 30.

Including the Tri-Holiday Series there will be 12 events featuring the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series at the track, which kicks off on Saturday April 5 & closes on September 13. The season ending sixth annual “Fall Classic” will take place on Saturday October 4 and this year will include the Watermelon Bash Enduro, along with Western Late Models, Modifieds, Super Stocks, Pure Stocks & Basic-4’s.

Reigning champions at the Stockton 99 Speedway include Grand American Modified titlist Jason Philpot, Western Late Model champion Matt Scott, Jason Aguirre in the Super Stocks, Ben Lewis II in Pure Stocks, Brad Mast in the 4-Cylinders and Gabriel Herzog in the Mini Cups.

Other highlights on the schedule for the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series include the annual “Johnny Brazil Night” on Saturday August 16 and “Kids Night” on Saturday June 14. The traveling BCRA Midgets will tackle the Stockton 99 Speedway on Saturday April 12. The traveling Pacific Challenge Series for Late Models will also invade the track on a trio of occasions, with those dates being Saturday April 12, Saturday June 7 and Saturday August 9.

“We’re happy with how the schedule came out this year and want to continue focusing on making it to where everyone can support the track as much as possible,” said Noceti. “Having a weekend or two off per month is huge to keep everyone fresh, but with events going on at the Stockton Dirt Track & Little 99, there is plenty to keep those diehards going all season long. Having a focus on special events is a big key and the schedule is scattered with a number of big shows during the season.”
