Jacob Gomes

Manteca driver Jacob Gomes will make his first appearance of the season at Stockton 99 Speedway today.

Gomes will compete in the Western Late Model race. Racing in the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series will begin at 6 p.m. and includes competition in the Pro-4 Modifieds, Super Stocks, Pure Stocks, and Mini Cups classes.

Gomes is preparing for the SRL Southwest Tour event at Stockton 99 on July 26. After five Southwest Tour races, Gomes is sixth in the standings.

Promoter Tony Noceti said a big race is coming up at Stockton 99 Dirt Track at the San Joaquin County Fairgrounds. The King of the West 410 Sprint Car Series is at the dirt track on Aug. 2.
