Passed away on October 25, 2008 at home surrounded by his family. He was 72 years old. Born to Ted and Rilda Fritz in Hughson, Ca. Member of the Moose Lodge and Clampers. Interests included bowling, pool tournaments, motorcycles, dirt biking and dunebuggies. Ted loved to travel and had been to most of the 50 states. He didn't make it to Hawaii because they hadn't built the bridge yet. Ted owned and operated Fritz Auto Wreckers of Turlock in the 1960's. The 1970's came and so did driving trucks. After 35 years of that Ted retired and took up going to auctions, flea markets and would have the biggest yard sale in Turlock. Ted at one point owned an airplane and learned to fly. He also enjoyed playing his mandolin, guitar and banjo. He loved spending time with family and friends. Ted also was a race car driver. Yes it's true. He started racing in 1955 on a track in Modesto. His career in racing brought him two Cailfornia State Championships. He raced at several CA tracks including Riverside, Ontario, and Laguna Seca with the BIG BOYS''. (He did quite well). Ted was married 43 years to his high school sweetheart, Anita Villines, and was with the first graduating class of Downey High School in Modesto. He has three children, Kathy Fritz and her companion John Ahlstrand of Ceres, Linda Wardle and husband Michael of Turlock and Teddy Fritz of Turlock. Ted has eight grandchildren: Chris Gianotti, T.J. Cornish , Rachel Lopez, Kadie Wardle, Jackie Wardle, Ryan Wardle, Teddy Fritz and Charles Fritz. He also has ten great grandchildren. Ted was preceded in death by his loving wife Anita, mother, father and brother Woody. Viewing will be held Wed., Oct. 29 from 4-8 pm services, Thurs., Oct. 30, 2pm at Lakewood Memorial Hughson.
